"Hooray for Inalienable Rights!"

This is just one of the many phrases Bennett tried to get our neice and nephew to yell during the 4th of July Parade on Saturday. He also told them to say, "Yay for the Founding Fathers", and "Hooray for the Declaration of Independence". I guess a simple "Happy 4th of July" is too meager a statement for Bennett :) It was a lot of fun watching them participate. They were too cute in the SCORCHING heat. After the parade and pancake breakfast we relaxed and started preparing a yummy bbq feast. Bennett smoked some ribs, and Bonnie and I got all the burgers, hotdogs and side dishes ready. It was delish! We swam for a little while and then Bennett lit off a few explosives for the kids (bottle rockets, smoke bombs, and sunflowers). Hehehe - the big timers. We were going to go to a show, but it was so hot and we were exhausted. So our miniature show sufficed for this year. Hadley and Cooper especially liked the smoke bombs. Here are a few shots of the festivities...

Marching along the parade - so classic. I laughed the whole time. The parade had the older kids in the front on bikes and the younger kids behind in wagons and walking. The older kids were lapping the younger ones as they raced around on their bikes during the event. It was hysterical.

Striking a cheezy pose. Cooper and Hadley were such good sports!

I thought this picture was so funny. After the parade, Cooper snuck off and was hijacking someone elses wagon. So funny!

Hope everyone had a fun-filled Fourth!!
