CELINE

One word, four syllables. SPEC-TAC-U-LAR. Many of you know how obsessed I am with Celine Dion. I remember when she started her show in Vegas like a million years ago, and I promised myself I would see her before she took a long break. I never was able to make it to Vegas to see her show, and was VERY sad when she announced she was through with "sin city". But alas, she announced she would be going on a WORLD TOUR and I almost died. Last October Bennett and my parents surprised me with Celine tickets for my birthday. And yes, I bawled when I opened up the gift and saw those beautiful paper tickets staring up at me :) Bennett was originally going to go with me, but told me he thought I should bring someone who would appreciate it more. Her concert was scheduled for last November, but due to an illness she postponed. So after MONTHS of anxious waiting, I took one of my best buds Steph and we experienced the musical genius of the fabulous Celine Dion!

Here I am kissing my beloved ticket before the show :) I was so excited!!

Steph, Aaron, Me, and Bennett grabbed some dinner at Cheesecake Factory before the show. Bennett and Aaron went to see a movie downtown while waiting for us :)

Me and Steph waiting for the show to start!!!! AHHH!!!!
Celine did this latin number where her dancers did a Tango...so cool

She was so incredible! I loved all her costume changes :)

Here she is up on the big screen. She was performing the Titanic song here.

Another pic of her performing :)
Celine is one of the most sensational performers. She did not mess up or go off key ever. I will definitely go to see her shows whenever she is on tour again!! Plus, she has got the most killer legs I have ever seen. That girl knows how to work it!! :)

This was our Valentine's Day in picture form :) Going to see Confessions of a Shopaholic (LOVE!!) and P.F. Changs. Bennett also got me the second "Confessions of a Shopaholic" book and a movie I have been wanting. I got him some video games he has been longing for:) Now, many of you know that for my New Year's Resolution I gave up Diet Coke. Well, my cravings have not disappeared since January 1. I have been strong, but I felt that since Valentine's Day is a special day that we cherish everything we love, why not get to partake of my beloved Diet Coke?? I even told Bennett, "Is it sad that I am more excited to drink a Diet Coke than eat at P.F. Chang's?" That, my friends, is true love.
P.S. I have since tried to be very good about my resolution, and when I feel vulnerable I just try and remember the gloriousness of that special holiday evening when the pure combination of carbonation and coca-cola slithered down my throat. Ahhhhhhhhh....bliss :)

Babysitting Ella :)

Bennett and I LOVE to babysit our niece, Ella. She is such a lil' sweetie and so much fun to snuggle with. It will be fun when she is older and can become my shopping buddy :) We decided to get her started young and introduce her to the fabulous world of shoes...

Her teensy feet basically fit in the toe area!

Here is a front shot...can't you tell she is in LOVE ?!?! If she is anything like her mom (Amber) and all her aunties, she will definitely be a shoppin' girl :)

Mom Bangs

As future mothers, Mallory and I decided to practice or mom 'dos. These bangs are a classic combination of femininity and glamour. The 3 inch wave is warm and inviting. You can wear this hip style at home, working out, or even for a night on the town. Other mothers will be jealous and want to copy your flair for fashion. It is so convenient and environmentally friendly; only 1/2 of a can of hairspray necessary for each use! Curling up your mom bangs says, "I'm not a woman anymore, I'm a mom". So all you mothers and future-mothers out there, get your fabulous mom bangs now :)

80's Bridal Attire...TOTALLY Back in Fashion

As many of you know I am currently employed at a bridal boutique. Now, most of our popular styles were designed within the last few years. Upon beginning my employment over a year ago at Walker's Bridal, I stumbled across a secret cave (or back storage closet) of wickedly awesome bridal gowns from the 1980's. WOW. They are fabulous. Gobs of overly beaded lace, huge skirts, puff sleeves, and turtleneck-looking collars. These dresses were too good to be kept hidden so secretly. My co-worker and I decided to get these gorgeous creations out of their lonely existence and display them for the public. We created a room near the back of the store and proudly made a sign entitled "Vintage Dresses". That's right, no "sale" or "clearance" or "discontinued" signs, just "Vintage Dresses". We even displayed the most fabulous on a mannequin. I swear I laughed for DAYS. Well, there is this one gigantic tiara circa 1985 that trumps all the fashion faux pas of tiaras. It rivals any in height and gaudiness. Yesterday, I had a bride interested in our "vintage" collection (by the way, they are all under $150), and she ended up finding the dress of her dreams :) [silent giggle]. As I was completing her sale for her clearance, errr vintage, dress she spotted the infamous tiara my co-workers and I have grown to use for several practical jokes. She became infatuated with it, especially because it matched PERFECTLY with her gown. Her mother and grandmother immediately told her that tiara was "the one" and she purchased it for $30 - originally $120. It was all I could do to contain myself from hysterics. Walker's Eternity Bridal retired its' tiara that has been a resident since the store opened. February 5th will go down in bridal history for us employees.

This tiara is the closest I could find the one at my store...but imagine more pearls...
